WARN Act rules in Kentucky

Kentucky has no separate state layoff notice statute. Employers here follow the federal WARN Act, which sets the floor in every state.

Notice required
60 days
Employers covered
100 or more employees, under federal WARN.
What triggers notice
A plant closing affecting 50 or more employees at a single site in 30 days, or a mass layoff of 500 or more, or 50 to 499 if they are at least 33 percent of the site workforce.

What the federal standard means here

Federal WARN requires 60 days written notice before a covered plant closing or mass layoff, and reaches employers with 100 or more employees.

Because Kentucky adds no state requirement, a layoff below those thresholds can be entirely lawful with no notice at all, and will not appear in the filings on this page. What WARN does not cover.
